Can I register/renew my domain name for more than one year?

Each domain extension has a fixed registration period.

For the most common .com/net/org/info/biz domains, this period is between 1 and 10 years.

If such a domain is active, it can also be renewed for multiple years, but the total number of years after the renewal should not exceed 10.

The only exception is if you are renewing an already expired domain – in this case, the domain can be renewed only for 1 year, but once it is active, you can add several years with a single order.  

Most country-code extensions can be registered for less years – .ES between 1 and 5, .COM.AU for 2, and so on.

You can see the maximum period you can get a domain for if you try to order it or if you try to renew it from My Domains -> Registered Domains.

How to change the Control Panel password?

Unlike your username (login name), the password for your Control Panel can be changed at any time.

To update your password, move your mouse over your name in the top-right corner of the Control Panel and select Change Password from the menu.

You will be asked to complete the following three fields:

  • Current Password — enter your existing password
  • New Password — enter your new password
  • Re-type New Password — confirm your new password

After filling in all fields correctly, click the Change button at the bottom of the form to complete the process. Your new password will take effect immediately.

If you do not remember your current password, you can use the Forgotten Password link on the login page to reset it. Alternatively, you may contact our Support team by opening a support ticket.

To open a ticket, go to the Help menu (Help Center → My Tickets → Open a New Ticket) in the top-right corner of your Control Panel, or use the button below.

How can I change the payment method for an automatic renewal?

A manual payment is required to create a subscription for the next billing period of any domain or hosting plan.

You can view or cancel your subscriptions at any time from your Control Panel. Simply hover over your name in the top-right corner and select Recurring.

If you wish to keep the subscription but change its funding source, go to the same section and click Change. A small pop-up window will appear, allowing you to choose a payment method: PayPalFirstData (credit and debit cards), or WorldPay (American Express cards).

After proceeding, you will be redirected to the payment page, where you must submit a $0.00 payment. This manual payment acts as an authorization, allowing us to automatically charge your selected payment method when your domain or hosting plan is due for renewal.

How can I renew my hosting plan for more than a year?

Our payment processors allow us to take payments for one year at a time only.

You can renew the hosting plan for a few years, but you will have to make a separate payment for each year.

A quicker way would be to fill your client wallet with the needed amount and then use the “Wallet” payment option on the payment page.

This will save you the time and efforts needed to enter your card details a few times in a row. 

How can I disable the ID protection for my domain name?

If the contact details for any of your domains are currently hidden by WHOIS Privacy Protection and you need to make them visible, you can easily disable this feature from your client area. To do so, navigate to My Domains > Registered Domains > WHOIS Privacy Protection, then locate the domain you wish to manage and click the ID Protect icon next to it.

A small pop-up window will appear, allowing you to disable privacy protection for that specific domain. Once disabled, your domain’s registrant, administrative, and technical contact information will become publicly visible in the WHOIS database.

Please keep in mind that disabling WHOIS Privacy Protection may expose your contact details to the public, which can result in increased spam emails, phone calls, or unwanted solicitations. In some cases, however, turning off privacy protection may be required for domain transfers, ownership verification, SSL certificate validation, or compliance with certain third-party services.

You can re-enable WHOIS Privacy Protection at any time by following the same steps, provided the service is available for your domain extension.

How can I hide the WHOIS details of my domain name?

Domain contact details are publicly displayed in WHOIS lookup databases and must remain accurate and up to date at all times.

To prevent third parties from viewing your personal or business information, you can enable ID Protection from your Control Panel by going to My Domains -> Registered Domains. Domains that support this feature will display an ID Protect icon next to the domain name. Please note that some domain extensions do not allow WHOIS data to be hidden, so ID Protection may not be available for all domains.

ID Protection—also known as Domain Privacy or WHOIS Privacy Protection—helps reduce spam, prevent identity theft, and protect your contact information from public exposure.

How to obtain the EPP transfer code for my domain

If your domain is registered through our company and you want to transfer it away, log into your hosting control panel, go to My Domains -> Registered Domains and click on the EPP icon.
The transfer code, which some companies also refer to as an authorization key or domain password, will be sent to the Registrant contact email address associated with the domain.
You can double-check the email address in the same section by selecting the domain and clicking on the Change WHOIS button.   

How to lock/unlock a domain name

Registrar Lock is an additional security feature available for some of the domain TLDs that we offer (.com, .net, .biz, .org, .us, .in, .me, .tv, .cc, .nu, .asia).

This security feature prevents domain name transfers. That way nobody can transfer your domain name and seize control over it without your authorization. The Registrar Lock function can be enabled or disabled by the domain owner. By default, newly registered domains are locked by our system but they could be unlocked at any time.

If you are trying to transfer a domain name to our company and the domain name status is “locked” or “transfer prohibited”, you must contact your current registar and request to have the domain name unlocked for transfer.

If you are trying to transfer a domain name away from us or simply want to unlock a domain name that is registered with us, you can do that from My Domains > Registered Domains

Next to each domain name there are several columns with corresponding icons underneath each of them. The very first one is the Status column. There you must click on the Registrar Lock icon:


Domain Lock/Unlock

Once you click on that button you will see a small pop-up window that displays the current status of the domain name. Next to it there is a button that reads Lock or Unlock, depending on the current status. Clicking on that button changes the status of your domain name.

IMPORTANT: To ensure the safety of your domain names, it is strongly recommended that you keep them locked at all times unless you intend to transfer a particular domain name.

NOTE: If you do not see a padlock next to the domain, it means that the domain extension does not support this feature and a transfer is done either with a transfer code or via email approval. If you are not sure how to transfer away your domain, feel free to open a ticket from the Help section located on the top right of your hosting control panel.

How can I renew a domain name without renewing the hosting plan?

You can renew one or several domains without renewing your hosting plan.

To do that, go to My Domains -> Registered Domains, where you will see all domains that you have registered through our company listed in a table.

You can renew one of them by clicking on its expiration date in the Expiration/Renewal column of the table.

If you want to renew several domains at once, tick the checkbox next to each one of them, then click on the Renew button that is located just above the table of domains.

A domain renewal page will come up and take you through the renewal steps. 

I have money in my PayPal account, but PayPal ask me to add a credit card

If you pay by PayPal, a recurring payment is created automatically.

The subscription can be cancelled at any time not only through this Control Panel, but also directly in your PayPal account with a couple of clicks.

In some countries, however, such subscriptions are not allowed for PayPal accounts (e.g. Germany), so you have to use a credit/debit card as the funding source instead of the PayPal balance.
